Four questions. A clearer picture.

01 / THE BASICS

What is tuberculosis?

TB is a bacterial disease, usually affecting the lungs. It is preventable and curable.

02 / TRANSMISSION

How does TB spread?

People with lung TB can release bacteria into the air when breathing, speaking or coughing.

03 / A KEY DISTINCTION

Does infection mean illness?

No. Only some infected people develop TB disease. A health professional can assess testing and preventive treatment.

04 / RECOGNIZING SYMPTOMS

When should you seek care?
